The employees of the Congress of the Argentine Nation will receive a year-end bonus for 30 thousand pesos. This excludes the legislators and legislators of the Chamber of Deputies and the Chamber of Senators, higher authorities and the political plant in general.
This decision to grant a bonus to the workers of the Congress was taken by the members of the Permanent Parity Commission of the organism in question and by the Vice President of the Nation. In a joint resolution of the aforementioned chambers, it is reported that the bonus will be paid in December together with the November salary.
For her part, the head of the Senate and Vice President of the Nation, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, was the person who signed the increase for employees of the Congress in the form of a bonus with the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Cecilia Moreau, a situation that dissatisfies the president, Alberto Fernández, who pronounces that it would be better not to interfere with the parity system in the organism legislative.
According to the approved articles, the 1st and 2nd stand out. The first of them provides the bonus in the form of “minimum and uniform salary increase” for the workers of the National Congress for the aforementioned 30 thousand pesos, and the second article instead tries to repeal article 2 of RC 03/2022. This salary increase will be present in the budget.
Cristina Fernández de Kirchner mentioned in her last public appearance that “a fixed sum is necessary to once again give capacity to workers’ salaries, which is not detrimental to joint pay.
The CGT on the fixed sum
According to the General Confederation of Labor, which brings together workers from different sectors, the fixed sum does not have a good impact as joint agreements do. The CGT considers that this bonus mechanism takes away their prominence.
The co-owner of the CGT, Héctor Daer, in the same way as the owner of his space, supports the agreement in parities before a fixed sum or bonus because “the fixed sum takes away dynamics from the parities” and “it is something that is incorporated into the basic and flattens the categories.”
