Captain Parménides Palacios Rentería, a police officer of Chocoano origin, was chosen as the best member of the institution in 2022.
With more than 20 years at the service of the National Police, the uniformed man from the municipality of Lloró, received the Police Excellence Award at an event held at the Roberto Arias Pérez de Colsubsidio theater in Bogotá.
The award was delivered by the Vice President of Colombia, Francia Márquez Mina.
Parmenides earned this great recognition for his work with the youth of the Pacific, especially in Tumaco, Nariño; where he has been able to enroll more than 8 thousand in the University with a social work called: ‘Laboratory of Peace, Coexistence and Citizen Security’, which seeks to prevent the future of the country from falling into the violence that is experienced in that area.
At this time, there are more than 2,500 students with scholarships at different universities in Colombia thanks to the tireless work of this police officer.
Precisely, at the award ceremony he remembered all those young people from his region who have been the engine of his project with great impact in the community.

In addition to the trophy that identifies him as the “Best Colombian Police” 2022, Parmenides received a 0 Kilometer car as a reward for his effort.
