The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) rejected the decision of the European Union (EU) to extend unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela.
In a release published this Tuesday on its Twitter social network account, ALBA-TCP pointed out that the Member States of the regional cooperation mechanism They reject the decision of the European Union to extend for the sixth year “the imposition of unilateral, interfering and violating coercive measures of International Law” against representatives of the country.
In its statement, the ALBA-TCP indicates that this policy of the European Union is a clear violation of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations, “with devastating effects on the nutrition, health and education of the Venezuelan people that prevent the enjoyment from the human rights”.
The integration organization also ratified its commitment to the Venezuelan people and government.
For its part, Venezuela rejected in a statement a few days ago the extension of the unilateral coercive measures illegally applied by the European Union in a premeditated way, pointing out that they massively punish and violate the human rights of the Venezuelan people.
The text branded as incoherent the publication of the EU decision on the same day that President Emmanuel Macron publicly expressed his willingness to support negotiations between the Government of Venezuela and a sector of the opposition, in the context of the Forum for the Peace.
