The renowned Cuban brand of rum havana club has taken advantage of its presence in the 38 Havana International Fair to make this Tuesday the exclusive presentation in the Cuban market of Cuban Spiced, the first rum-based spirit drink in its product portfolio.
“Our presence at the Fair is very focused on showing the diversity and strength of our portfolio, not only with strategic products such as rums Havana Club three years, seven years, or the Selección de Maestros and the whole range prestige. We are also promoting innovations that are very present in our development strategy, among which Cuban Spiced is included”, he commented in an aside with OnCubaVenus Carrillo, specialist in communication and public relations of the company.

The new product combines the Havana Club Añejo Especial with spices and tropical flavors that are very present in Cuba, such as guava, pineapple, coconut, and presents notes of vanilla and cinnamon, which in the opinion of the specialist, should be well accepted. within the Cuban public.
With this new blend, the brand intends to start off on the right foot its foray into the category of spicy rums, considered by experts to be the most dynamic on the market worldwide.
“In the sale of rums, the category of spiced rums is the one that grows the most. Now it covers 35% of total sales in the world, and staying out of that segment meant giving up a very important share of consumers”, explains Carrillo.
Cuban Spice had an initial presentation in March 2021 in the United Kingdom, mainly focused on the European market, where it is gaining recognition and awards in international competitive events.
“The average Cuban palate is generally inclined towards the very salty or the very sweet, towards the strong. As our new product, without actually being a liqueur, it has very marked sweet notes compared to others in the portfolio. That is why we believe that it can be very popular in the youth sector, which is the one it is mainly focused on, ”adds Carrillo.
It also points to an expected impact among women and among those looking for less strong options in this type of drink. “It does not have as high an alcoholic degree as others of the brand, but it does maintain the hallmark of Havana Club, which is that brilliance and smoothness on the palate,” she specified.
