Her firstborn was born with acute fetal distress, presenting hematochezia on several occasions and abdominal distension, for which she had to be operated on the day after her birth. She underwent an exploratory laparotomy and found that much of her small intestine was necrotic.

In the operation, “a midgut volvulus with 3 counterclockwise turns with extensive necrosis was identified from one centimeter of the angle of Treiz to 5 centimeters from the ileocecal valve, therefore they performed the resection of all that necrosed part of the small intestine, leaving only the duodenum, 1 cm of jejunum and 5 cm of ileum. Brisa has gone through two operations

On September 13, the minor underwent a second emergency operation because her abdomen was again distended and the x-ray showed air outside the intestine. This bowel perforation was caused by severe 5 Hgb anemia that was not promptly treated and a generalized PCR 24 infection that was not adequately treated. Because of this, the 5 cm of jejunum that grew in the span of two months of her life was resected.

Nowadays, Brisa is admitted to the Pediatric Gastroenterology Service of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospitalin Lima.

Both the doctors at the clinic where he was born (Clínica San Judas Tadeo) and the specialists at the Edgardo Rebagliati Hospital mention that his condition is stationary, his case is chronic and his prognosis is guarded.
