MIAMI, United States. — An Antonov An-2 plane of the National Air Services Company (ENSA) registration CU A1885 crashed this afternoon in the Everglades National Park (Florida) with two people on board, the chain reported. WPLG.
Tammy L. Jones, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States, told this outlet that the two people who were on the aircraft survived the crash, which occurred shortly after 1 p.m. about 15 miles to the west of Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.
Everything indicates that it is the same Soviet-made Antonov An-2 plane used by the pilot Ruben Martinez Machado to escape from Cuba on October 21.
Images shared by the South Florida media show the device with its belly up while being remotely inspected by federal agents.
The apparent forced landing did not cause the aircraft to explode, which, in theory, saved the lives of the two crew members.
At the moment, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the case.
