The rains that began last Friday extended to Saturday and Sunday in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), and were captured by thousands of citizens, who took photos, took videos and even made live broadcasts.
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) had announced strong winds with rain and hail fall for Sunday in the Buenos aires citysomething that would also affect the crowns that surround CABA.
The neighbors of CABAoutraged by the storm, power outages, impossibility to circulate on the streets and strong winds, culminated in reflecting their complaints on social networks such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
According to the data that was collected on Sunday, there was a 40-millimeter drop of water in the capital. More intense rains were also reported in communes 10, 11 and 13.
There were points full of water, such as the streets, some houses; nevertheless the most dangerous flooding points were underpasses or various tunnels.
The crossing that passes under the Ruiz Huidobro tunnel, close to the Miter railway tracks, suffered from the inclement weather. Vehicles were thrown by the water towards other cars or directly against houses and trees of the place.
Tunnel flood covered a car
This Sunday, the Luis Alberto Spinetta tunnel, located on Avenida Congreso, between Coghlan and Villa Urquiza, was flooded and a car was trapped along with its occupants.
Firefighters arrived on scene to remove the car, which had two people trapped inside. After the rescue, the crew members of the vehicle were assisted by SAME.
