MICM launches RD Emprende to promote entrepreneurs

In the framework of the celebration of the Global Week of the Entrepreneurshipthe Ministry of Industry, Trade and MSMEs (MICM) presented today the strategy DR Undertakesa national public-private network to support the entrepreneurship in the country, through projects, investigations, studies and incidence in public policies.

Victor -Ito- BisonóMinister of Industry and Commerce, explained that the program includes all governmental, non-governmental, non-profit institutions or companies that have a vocation to support job creation and economic growth.

“What better time to do it than in the Global Entrepreneurship Weekwhich this year has its sights fixed on continuing to articulate, promote and strengthen tangible actions that inspire all the actors of the entrepreneurial ecosystem as an unstoppable force of development”, highlighted the official.

He stressed that the program is designed to create strategic mechanisms, through public-private alliances, aimed at promoting culture for him entrepreneurship and encourage new entrepreneurs to receive incentives and benefits that facilitate their formalization.

He recalled that the Government placed almost 2,000 million of pesos in financing for projects of entrepreneurship in the month of May, which adds to the government’s support for the MSMEs. “With all this the country wins, its people win; we all win,” he noted.

Initially 11 public and private institutions They are part of the network as members who will work to articulate joint actions that allow them to take advantage of synergies and strengthen efforts to promote business ventures.

“This first year of operation of the organization, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs leads the network through the vice-ministry of Promotion of MSMEs and who directs it, Jorge Morales”, reported Bisonó.

On the impact of the network with which the formalization of the MSMEsJorge Morales explained that joint action plans are already in operation with small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to accompany them in their improvement processes.

When talking with members of the press, during the launch event, Morales spoke about the request made yesterday by the National Federation of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of the Dominican Republic (fenacerd) who asked the president for a new ministry only for MSMEs and free zones.

The vice minister said that it is a good option, since the segment MSMEs requires a deal specialized that contributes to its regularization. “It is a positive approach because the MSMEs they are totally different from other sectors and their contribution to the economy is significant,” he said.

The official considered that one of the factors with the highest incidence in this business line are the economic limitations and lack of a specialized regulatory framework.

Precisely, with the multisectoral network, RD Emprende, It is expected to advance in terms of public policies that improve the functioning of the entrepreneurial sector in which many non-formalized micro-enterprises stand out, he said.
