The President of the Nation, Alberto Fernandez heads this Sunday to Bali, in the country of Indonesia, to participate in the 17th G20 Leaders Summit, where he will have bilateral meetings with world leaders and a meeting of leaders organized by the president of the United States (USA), Joe Biden.
The President he is accompanied by Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero; the Argentine ambassador to the US, Jorge Argüello; Julio Vitobello, Secretary General of the Presidency and the Government spokesperson, Gabriela Cerruti. Alberto Fernandez It also has the presence of the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.
The G20 meeting, in which he will participate Alberto Fernandezhas as central motto: “Recover together. Come back stronger”, referring to the exit of the coronavirus pandemic. This consists of three sessions dedicated to food and energy security, health and digital transformation, all the slogans worldwide and each country in particular.
Already at the top, the argentinian president Together with his entourage, he will state that there are three issues to improve the economic and social conditions of the Latin American and Caribbean region. This is because our country will be the spokesperson for the Latin and Caribbean countries.
The first of these questions is promote the participation of the countries of the region in global value chains, thus increasing the added value of each of its exports. In this way, employment and the external sector of the region are strengthened.
The second question deals with increase financing for development and assistance for heavily indebted countries, as is the case of our Argentina. Finally, the president emphasizes the need to comply with and increase the financing available to face the energy transition with less impact on the environment. Already at COP27, which deals with the environment, it was reported that this year will be a record for air pollution with CO2.
The bilateral meetings of the Argentine president
In addition to participation in the G20, Fernandez will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. In this meeting, it is expected that the Argentine president will raise the possibility of expanding the use of the Chinese Swap, which is currently at 18,500 million dollars.
It was also confirmed by the Presidency that there will be “two or three more bilaterals to be confirmed”. On the other hand, the president will have a meeting with Kristalina Georgieva, head of the International Monetary Fund.
