Santo Domingo It is the second province in the country with the lowest percentage of operations of mobile devices (tablets) that are used by technicians during the Tenth National Population and Housing Census 2022.
In bulletin #1, the National Statistics Office (ONE)reported that there are six provinces that to date have only reached 60 and 88 percent connectivity of the tablets carried by the pollsters to collect information from each family in the country.
The list is headed by La Altagracia, with 60%; Santo Domingo, with 68%; Santiago, with 72%; Puerto Plata, with 37%; San Cristobal 77%; and 88% Espaillat.
While in the National District, Bahoruco, Elías Pineapple, Mirabal Sisters, La Romana, Monte Plata, Samaná. As well as San José de Ocoa, San Pedro de Macorís and Sánchez Ramírez, the ONE has achieved 93 and 99% performance of the tablets used in the census.
In the provinces Azua, Barahona, Dajabón, Duarte, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Independencia, La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez. As well as Monseñor Nouel, Monte Cristi, Pedernales, Peravia, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez and Valverde, 100% connectivity of the devices used in the exercise has been achieved.
Víctor Romero, in charge of the ONE Census Department, clarified that the delay they have had from the 10th to today “is due to the difficulties that occurred in the registration process and the linking of the database with connectivity to the servers.
“With all the steps that have to be executed, it was not possible to do it effectively in all the sites. That is what has caused us that in some provinces we are not 100 percent”, he added.
