Abinader, optimistic about the Dominican economy in 2023

International and national organizations project an economic growth of 5% for the Dominican Republic at the end of 2022, in a scenario that is expected to be complex for all economies, a reason that leads the president Louis Abinader to feel optimistic that economic expectations will be exceeded for next year.

“I am very optimistic about the economyTherefore, next year I am also sure that we are going to be the light and the beacon of Latin America, as we have been these years in the economic recovery”, said the president this Sunday during the closing of the Tenth National Congress of the Federation of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of the Dominican Republic (Fenacerd).

“I want to share the optimism, which is also realism, of José Díaz, president of Fenacerdin relation to the dominican economywhich will have a growth of between 5 or 5.5 percent, according to projections, but I would say 4 or 5 percent,” he said.

When detailing some figures on economic growth, he valued the performance of the productive sectors, citing the contributions to the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the sectors: construction, tourism, free zones and, among others, exports. “Our country has a very diverse production matrix, which is our strength,” Abinader said.
