Santo Domingo.- A subject was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of killing his partner in the Villa Liberación sector, in Santo Domingo Este.

The Second Collegiate Court of this jurisdiction sentenced Manauris Morillo Espinal and/or Espinales, after establishing that he killed Denia Contreras Lara while the victim was in her home.

It was established that the convicted man committed the murder after sexually raping the woman with whom he had a relationship, whom he stabbed and then burned the body to hide the facts.

Later, he set fire to the room where he had left the mortally wounded woman.

The judges found Morillo Espinal guilty of voluntary manslaughter and an act of barbarism and arson in an inhabited house, condemning him to serve the maximum sentence in La Victoria.

The investigating prosecutor Geivis Tapia established in the process that the crime occurred on October 11, 2020, around 11:20 at night, after the convicted entered the victim’s residence, where he raped her and then beat her with his fists and inflicted the wound near the aortic vein, which caused his death.
