Colombia is crowned champion of the World Skate Games

Colombia champion of the general medal table of the World Skate Games 2022 which were played in Argentina. The delegation took first place after winning 20 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze for a total of 45 metals.

The second position went to Italy with 16 golds, 29 silvers and 16 bronzes; in third place was Spain with 16 golds, 2 silvers and 14 bronzes.

Speed ​​skating was the discipline in which Colombia won the most medals, achieving 19 golds, 13 silvers and 10 bronzes. The country also took first place in figure skating thanks to Brayan Carreño.

Also highlighted were Alef Torres’ silver medal in inline downhill and the bronze medal for the Colombian junior women’s inline hockey team.

This is the second time that Colombia has won the World Skate Games, after having achieved it in the 2017 edition that took place in Nanjing.

In Barcelona 2019, the national delegation took second place.

“It is very satisfying to win this overall title with a smaller delegation than in the previous World Wheel Games, and in some of our disciplines with very young athletes who mark the renewal in this sport. This has been a joint effort and I must thank all the athletes, their parents, each one of the members of this skating family who made a general title possible”; said José Acevedo, president of the Colombian Skating Federation,
