Against. congressman William Bermejofrom Democratic Peru, questioned the decision of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC) of Congress to approve the final report that supports the constitutional complaint for alleged violations of the Constitution, and the alleged crime of treason against the country of President Pedro Castillo.
During an interview on TV Peru, the legislator considered that a crime of treason against the country should be “delivering Tiwinza” to Ecuador or transport drugs on the presidential plane. Cases involving former dictator Alberto Fujimori.
“I think treason against the country could be, for example, handing over Tiwinza, or taking out cocaine on the presidential plane.. Having paid him and having as presidential adviser and chief and decision maker of promotions in the National Police and Armed Forces, Vladimir Montesinos. That is treason against the country or charging quotas to drug traffickers, ”he said.
Likewise, Red Bermejo I consider that Pedro Castillo’s interview on the international chain CNN in which he talks about the eventual exit to the sea of bolivia, It was just “an opinion”.
“Consider in an interview the possibility of giving access to the sea as an opinionbecause there is no factual fact behind it, it is much less than what Fujimori did, who brought the president of that time and raised his hand in our sea. Alan García defended Bolivia’s right to access the sea sovereignly in front of Evo Morales. None of those events have happened now, it is an opinion of the president”, he asserted.
Guillermo Bermejo: “This issue exposes a coup opposition”
In this sense, the parliamentarian pointed out that said constitutional complaint against Pedro Castillo, which seeks to disqualify him from office for five years as president, “undresses a coup opposition.”
“The seriousness of the matter is that it exposes a coup opposition that speaks of suitabilityof prepared people. These people make this type of accusation, which they intend to disable the president with this type of attitude, capricious interpretations of the law, of politics. The risk that we Peruvians would suffer would be very serious,” he added.
