The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) updated the yellow alert which had been issued this Sunday afternoon due to “strong storms” for the western and southwestern regions of the country.
The organism I had already communicated for another warning yellow on the morning of this Sunday the 13th, also due to storms and rains, which stopped around 10:30.
In this case, it is reported that an atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country, which “generates storms, some occasionally strong.”
“It should be noted that in storm zones intense rains may be recorded in short periods, occasional hail, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind,” adds the Inumet statement.
Specifically, the affected localities are the following:
Cologne: Campana, Colonia Valdense, Colonia del Sacramento, Conchillas, El Semillero, Estanzuela, Florencio Sánchez, Gil, Juan Lacaze, La Paz, Los Pinos, Miguelete, Nueva Helvecia, Ombúes de Lavalle, Radial Conchillas, Rosario, Santa Ana and Tarariras.
Peach: Baygorria and Feliciano.
Flowers: Andresito, Cerro Colorado, Ismael Cortinas, La Casilla and Trinidad.
Paysandu: White House.
Black river: Bellaco, El Ombú, Gartental, General Borges, Grecco, Menafra, Paso de los Mellizos, San Javier, Sarandí de Navarro, Tres Quintas, Villa María and Young.
Saint Joseph: Ecilda Paullier, Juan Soler, Mal Abrigo and Rafael Perazza.
soriano: Cardona, Egaña, José Enrique Rodó, Palmitas, Risso and Santa Catalina.
Earlier the alert also included the towns of Salto and Tacuarembo.
