From 2014 to date, the Catalog of Sanctioned Subjects (CASS) of the specialized chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) accumulates 1,148 records.

Different people and public and private entities are registered in the CASS, from the President of the Republic to governors, legislators, mayors and all political parties, among others, as well as individuals and radio and television concessionaires, to mention the most relevant . A file may contain one sanctioned instance or person or several.

Although the magistrates assure that it is a statistical compendium, their peers in the upper chamber have also warned about the risks of recidivism in terms of electoral infractions and raise the scope of the sanctions and if, for example, these should result in the loss of honest way of livingcause for not being eligible, as occurs with the violent of women.

This year, presidential candidates have been included in this catalog, some several times, such as the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, with a dozen entries. The most recent was in the week ending with dissemination of government propaganda during a prohibited period and violation of the principle of impartialityfor the disclosure of certain messages on social networks in a prohibited period for it.

This CASS was practically inaugurated in March 2014 with a fine of 7 million pesos to the Green Party for the episode of illegal propaganda in movie theaters.

The CASS should not be confused with the National Registry of Persons Sanctioned in the Matter of Political Violence against Women for Gender Reasons, in charge of the National Electoral Institute, currently with 276 registries.
