The Ministry of Health detailed 5,575 new cases, of which 2,814 correspond to symptomatic people and 800 did not present symptoms. In addition, 1,961 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 4,838,658. and recovered patients reached 4,746,205. since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.
The death of 25 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 62,008 since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 15.10% nationwide.
As for active cases, these reached 17,480 people and PCR tests amounted to 35,080 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 46,580,283.
Meanwhile, there are 140 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 88 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 1,864 critical beds enabled and 277 critical beds available.
Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 17.18%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Metropolitan, Antofagasta and Valparaíso.
