The Ministry’s statement stated the following:
“The Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), within the framework of the 27th Conference of the Parties taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt), has informed the Government of Colombia about the complaint against two members of the official delegation of the country in this event, for alleged sexual harassment”.
“In accordance with the UNFCCC Code of Conduct, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, acting as Foca Pointl Nacional before the Convention, has proceeded to suspend the accreditations of these two delegates, while the Secretariat advances in the investigation,” says another part of the statement.
“The National Government is emphatic in condemning any act of intimidation, harassment or violation of the rights of women“, adds the writing.
