The president of the Republic Luis Lacalle Pou traveled this Saturday to Colonia To participate in two traditional activities that take place in the department. The first one is the Knife Festivalwhere various artisans display their creations.
Together with the second edition of the Knife Festival, the fourth Meeting of Cutlers D’Arte Filo. In both instances you can see knives of all kinds, especially those homemade with Creole silverware.
The events were held at the BIT Center in Colonia del Sacramento, a place Lacalle Pou approached this Saturday afternoon. The president toured several stands and talked with the cutlers.
It is expected that later it will also participate in the 18th edition of the National Cheese Contest, in Cologne.
More than 30 industries and artisan dairies participate in this activity, according to information published on the website of the Presidency, which also indicates that there will be more than 120 samples of different types of cheese that will compete and be awarded.
