A group of Cuban troubadours remembered the work of singer-songwriter Vicente Feliú on November 11, the 75th anniversary of his birth.
At the concert, held at the National Library, performers such as Augusto Blanca, Yhosvany Palma, Ariel Díaz, Mauricio Figueiral and Argentina’s Paula Ferre shared the stage.
The singer-songwriter Aurora Feliú, daughter of the troubadour, was another of the participants in the tribute, where emblematic songs by Vicente were heard, such as “Créeme”, belonging to the album of the same name, and “I don’t know how to stay”.
Born in Havana on November 11, 1947, Vicente Feliú was one of the founders of the Nueva Trova Movement and also served as an important promoter of songwriting in Cuba and other regions of Latin America.
Throughout his career, he published more than 30 albums, among which are “Guevarianas”, “I don’t know how to stay”, “Aurora” and “El colibrí”. Among his collaborations, the album “Ansias del Alba” stands out, which he recorded together with his brother Santiago Feliú.
Vicente passed away at the age of 74 on December 17, 2021 and his death shocked not only the trova scene, but Cuban culture in general.
