The released political prisoner Carlos Valle was violently recaptured by police officers from the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo on November 5, in the morning hours, he informed Article 66 his daughter, the also released politician Elsa Valle. His relatives consider that he could be locked up in “El Chipote”.
On the morning of Saturday, November 5, on the eve of the municipal elections, Carlos Valle was sleeping in his home in the Colonia Unidad de Propósito, in Managua. They violently broke the gates of his house, scaled the wall and entered the building by force without presenting an arrest warrant, explained his daughter Elsa Valle.

“My dad is an elderly man who doesn’t mess with anyone. He was asleep. He is a man who suffers from pressure. What is my dad going to hide in that house? It is true that he was a politician, but who are they to get into that way (into his house)? What’s wrong with them?” he added.
Elsa Valle explained that her two pets tried to defend her father when he was violently captured and both were beaten by police officers. One of the pets suffered a broken leg and the other has a head injury.
Accused of terrorism in 2018
Valle became one of the most recognized opponents of the Ortega and Murillo regime in the country. He led the social protests with a giant photograph hanging around his neck with the face of his daughter Elsa Valle, who was facing terrorism charges at the time. The man was arrested on September 15, 2018 and was released in February 2019.
After his release, the opponent continued to protest against the regime for a few more months. On several occasions he was besieged and harassed by the police and paramilitary groups. At the beginning of September 2018, he was cornered in the facilities of the newspaper La Prensa when he tried to take a walk with other self-conveners. Valle spent at least nine hours at the scene, until members of the Civic Alliance finally intervened.
In October 2018, he faced justice after being involved in a traffic accident, after colliding with an Ortega Police lieutenant in the Plaza El Sol sector. He was held for a few days and then released.
