The senator and leader of Cabildo Abierto, Guido Manini Riosassured that “surely” he will be a candidate in the 2024 elections and pointed out that the Minister of Public Health Daniel Salinas has not “expressed any interest” to compete in that race.
“The year 2024 is still far away in political times, there is much to go before. But Cabildo Abierto is a party that has its characteristics. Surely I will be a candidate. There is no other figure that is foreseeing the same thing today,” Manini said at a press conference, recorded by Telemundo. The senator participated this Saturday in the National Congress of Young Lobbyists.
On the other hand, the senator referred to the situation in Salinas, who announced that in March of next year he will leave his position in the Ministry of Public Health. “Salinas has not expressed any interest in being a candidate. It is fulfilling a function, in a very good way, and is receiving recognition from a good part of society,” Manini said.
“He’s not thinking about it yet. It may be that well on the date other senators will be given waybut today we will continue with our parliamentary work, which is more necessary than ever,” added the senator from Cabildo Abierto.
