An alliance with the administrators of the PH, to generate the protocols that allow the expedited passage to the collaborators of the National Censuses decade 2020, was developed by the National Institute of Statistics and Census of Panama (INEC).
Comptroller Gerardo Solís affirmed that cartography is the fundamental indicator in the development of censuses, which yielded important information on the increase in condominiums, horizontal properties and neighborhoods with security checkpoints.
For her part, the president of the Association of Professional Administrators of Horizontal Property in Panama (ADEPA-PH), Yarissel Cedeño advocated that administrators become multiplier agents, making tenants, owners and providers aware of the importance of this macro event to be held on January 8, 2023.
“Our support consists of providing information not only to ADEPA-PH administrators; We are opening our social networks and public webinar in the coming days, where we expect the participation of people who are not part of the association,” Cedeño said.
Samuel Moreno, director of the INEC, called on the foreign population not to be afraid when giving information to the enumerators, since the census questionnaire does not include questions about immigration status. But it is important to know the number of foreigners who are in our country, who use public services, who generate supply in their workforce and who live in Panama.
It is worth mentioning that the National Censuses collect updated information on the number of dwellings, the growth and distribution of the population, its economic and social characteristics that serve as the basis for decision-making by governments for the development of public works and policies.
During the technological test, the percentage of rejection was in the order of 2.2%, which is considered “high” for the total number of homes that were visited; This situation has given rise to new mechanisms and strategies to lower the percentage of people who have refused to give information or open the door to enumerators.
