A last minute call stopped what was almost done. Inside the Anti-Terrorism Directorate (Dircote) had prepared for yesterday at 8:00 am a farewell ceremony for General Oscar Arriola.
The day before, Arriola and another small group of generals had received a written communication –in a sealed envelope– to inform them of their assignments to other units, something unusual on this date.
This unusual decision was revealed by Peru21 Thursday afternoon –in the web edition– after confirming it with different sources. And, after leaking and becoming public, from the General Command they backed down.
Yesterday’s farewell ceremony was interrupted when the general himself asked to speak before it took its course.
There, before the agents of the DircoteArriola said precisely that he had received a memorandum from the Human Resources Directorate (DIRREHUM) to order his transfer to the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri).
“We are disciplined and we have to obey orders. But there has been a call from the high command where they have told me to accompany you and continue with you until the end of the year,” Arriola said, according to sources present at the meeting. and the staff of the Dircote – summoned for a farewell party – celebrated the good news.
But the sources also expressed their concern about the precarious stability that surrounds Arriola, who wants to be discharged – from the Executive – months ago. That counterorder, for example, was only oral, after leaking the news and without any document in between.
A different situation occurred in the first order, which arrived in a sealed envelope classified as secret, like other generals such as Carlos Tuse, from the General Inspectorate.
Yesterday Commander General Raúl Alfaro said that these changes had been planned “to give a new impetus to these last months of the year in which the incidence of crime increases.” “We have decided to rescind (the decision),” he confirmed.
KEEP IN MIND:
- The police changes that were reported were in Dircote, Dirincri, Inspectorate and the Human Trafficking Directorate.
