The French coach of Saudi Arabia, Hervé Renard, unveiled the list of 26 players summoned for the World Cup in Qatar, which will begin on November 20.
It includes the experienced midfielder Salman Al-Faraj, despite the injury suffered by the Al-Hilal player in the 1-0 friendly win against Iceland last Sunday.
The coach, in office since July 2019, declared that Al-Faraj still has discomfort in one shoulder but that in principle will arrive in time to play the World Cup.
Saudi Arabia, facing its sixth World Cup presence after 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2018is in group C along with Argentina, which will be its first opponent, Mexico and Poland.
The best result of the Saudi national team dates back to the 1994 World Cup in the United States, with a lost eighth final against Sweden (3-1).
