Data released by the Ministry of Health this Friday (11) show that Brazil has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, 688,656 deaths from covid-19. According to the epidemiological bulletin, the total number of confirmed cases of the disease is 34,889,576.
In 24 hours, 18,622 new cases were recorded. In the same period, 49 deaths of victims of the virus were confirmed. Also according to the bulletin, 34,115,188 people have recovered from the disease and 104,354 cases are being monitored.
States
According to the data released, São Paulo leads the number of cases, with 6.16 million, followed by Minas Gerais (3.88 million) and Paraná (2.75 million). The smallest number of cases is registered in Acre (150 thousand). Then appears Roraima (175.9 thousand) and Amapá (178.7 thousand).
Regarding deaths, according to the most recent data, São Paulo has the highest number (175,825), followed by Rio de Janeiro (75,908) and Minas Gerais (63,897). The lowest number of deaths is in Acre (2,029), Amapá (2,164) and Roraima (2,175).
Vaccination
To date, 488.7 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 have been applied, 180.3 million with the first dose and 162.8 million with the second dose. The single dose has been given to more than 5 million people.
This Friday, the ministry informed that more than 68 million people have not yet taken the booster dose against covid-19. Also according to the folder, 32.8 million people could have received the second booster dose against the disease, but have not yet been vaccinated. Immunizers are available at more than 38,000 vaccination posts across the country. Studies show that the strategy of strengthening the vaccine schedule against the new coronavirus increases protection against serious cases and deaths by covid-19 by more than five times.
