The Cutzamala System decreases delivery of water to the Valley of Mexico due to failure

The Cutzamala System delivers water to the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM). The decrease implies going from 13.2 m3/s to 11.2 m3/s.

It is estimated that the maneuvers that will be carried out to replace the damaged transformer will be carried out in a period of four weeks.

The normalization of the operation of the System will take place approximately in the first fortnight of December.

The failure was promptly reported to the Mexico City Water System and the Mexico State Water Commission, Conagua reported.

The supply regularly used by the ZMVM comes 75% from various sources, and the remaining 25% is provided by the Cutzamala System; therefore, the decrease indicated only represents 3% of the total consumption of the Metropolitan Area.
