Regional legislators of the Patagonian Parliament celebrated the management transfer ceremony at the Vicecomodoro Marambio Base in Antarctica Argentina, in which Santa Cruz assumed ownership of the legislative body that will be headed by the deputy of that province, Matías Mazú, and signed the Declaration from Argentine Antarctica.
The Patagonian Parliament thus began a new institutional stage and the Region of Patagonia achieved its “most resounding presence” with theattendance of twenty deputies from the six provinces, the legislative body said in a statement.
Along these lines, he pointed out that the delegation was made up of legislators from the provinces of Chubut, Río Negro, La Pampa, Neuquén and Tierra del Fuego, accompanied by the vdeputy governor of that province, Mónica Urquiza, and the deputy governor of Santa Cruz, Eugenio Quiroga.
The legislator of Tierra del Fuego, Emmanuel Trentino, who was replaced as head of the legislative body by Mazú, He presided over the act together with the vice-governor of that province.
“It is important that this Patagonian Parliament continues to malvinize, seeking that sovereignty be exercised with peace and dialogue”highlighted Trentino by highlighting the symbology of the ceremony in Marambio and the bicontinental condition that Tierra del Fuego has.
In addition, it reaffirmed “the legitimate and imprescriptible sovereignty of the Argentine Republic over the Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and the corresponding maritime and insular spaces” and “the peaceful vocation of our people to recover the full exercise of our sovereignty as as established in the First Transitory Provision of the National Constitution”.
Trentino together with the representatives of Patagonia signed the Argentine Antarctica Declarationa document that “highlights the belonging of the white continent to the region to the province of Tierra del Fuego and recalls the need to find answers to the demands formulated in two documents such as those of Río Gallegos, Neuquén, Santa Rosa, Puerto Madryn and San Carlos de Bariloche,” the statement said.
Mazú will be accompanied in the vice presidency by deputy Carlos Santi and as secretary, deputy Laura Hindi.
The new stage of the Patagonian Parliament will extend by two yearsas resolved by the Internal Regulations of its operation.
