FANB destroys illegal camp in Imataca Forest Reserve

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) destroyed a camp used to practice illegal mining, belonging to the armed group Las 3R, in the Imataca Forest Reserve, in Bolívar state.

The information was released by head of the FANB Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, who through a message on his account on the social network Twitter explained that illegal mining was practiced in the “criminal camp” destroyed by the FANB.

“In the Imataca Forest Reserve in Bolívar state, the FANB destroys the illegal mining criminal camp of the armed group Las 3R. Every armed group will receive a forceful and legal response from the Venezuelan State,” he posted on Twitter.

In this regard, the Head of Ceofanb reiterated that “all mining activity it must have permits, records, supervision and control.”

In this regard, he pointed out that “the #FANB will supervise compliance with the laws and environmental regulations.

Fight against illegal mining

The FANB remains deployed in the borders and key entities of the country to fight against illegal mining practices and all those actions that go against the environment and the Forest Reserves of the country.

In this sense, Hernández Lárez indicated that the combat Rapid Reaction Units (URRA) are deployed in Bolívar, in order to exercise sovereignty against illegal mining practices.

“Combat URRAS deployed in Bolívar state, exercising sovereignty in the fight against illegal mining, human trafficking and drug trafficking, in the dismantling of the armed criminal gang Las 3R,” he said on Twitter.

Given these findings of illegal mining camps, Hernández Lárez ratified that the FANB will not allow the exploitation of the environment and the Forest Reserves.

“Mining exploitation or the devastation of the environment in the Venezuelan Forest Reserves will not be allowed. They are areas protected by the State, #FANB will guarantee its protection,” he said.

For the FANB, biological diversity, natural resources, ecological processes and Forest Reserves are of vital importance, for this reason it will continue to be deployed so as not to allow arbitrary exploitation.
