Medina Padilla was appointed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, on December 15, replacing Carlos Romero Aranda, who was appointed as a member of the Governing Board of the Institute for the Protection of Bank Savings (IPAB).
“We are going for those who hide behind corporate structures, against aggressive accounting schemes, fighting billers, hydrocarbon theft and outsourcing. We are going for white-collar criminals, to go deep into tax issues, whether there is reason or not. business in the operations,” said the candidate for the head of the Federal Tax Attorney’s Office.
He emphasized that the Attorney General’s Office will keep an eye on operations and restructuring of companies that are carried out, and that those who threaten public finances will be investigated and prosecuted, “we are going to act firmly, legally,” the official added.
The opinion sent by the federal government for ratification was approved by the Committee with 13 votes in favor, two against and zero abstentions. Tomorrow it will be discussed and voted on in plenary.
Prior to his appointment, the lawyer was head of the Unit for Policies and Strategies for the Construction of La Paz with states and regions of the Secretariat for Security and Citizen Protection. He has also served as Undersecretary of Government of Mexico City.
Medina Padilla holds a Master’s degree in Law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
He was head of the delegation in Tláhuac; in the same demarcation he was general director of Legal and Government and Citizen Participation.
In 2015 he was head of the delegation and general director of Legal and Government in the Magdalena Contreras mayor’s office.
He served as general coordinator of Inter-institutional Liaison with State Governments and monitoring of CONAGO in the Government Secretariat of Mexico City. Former deputy director of the National Conference of Municipalities of Mexico and director of Interinstitutional Liaison at the Association of Local Authorities of Mexico.
