Santo Domingo.- The National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) and the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and State intelligence agencies, supported by members of the Public Ministry, seized 21 packages of cocaine, in a monitoring and surveillance operation at Las Palmas International Airport. Americas in which a foreigner and two National Police officers were arrested.
DNCD agents, soldiers and members of the Police, arrested a 39-year-old Mexican who arrived in the country in a commercial flight from Colombia.
Immediately in the presence of a deputy prosecutor, his luggage was inspected, finding the 21 packages of the substance distributed in a backpack and a suitcase.

The drug had a total weight of 21.80 kilograms of cocaine, as determined in its analysis by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF).
For the case, the authorities are also investigating two lieutenants of the National Police, who were serving at the terminal at the time of the foreigner’s arrest.
“The detainees, as well as the evidence seized, are in the possession of the Public ministrywhile the investigation is deepened to determine if there are others involved in the case.
The authorities have intensified surveillance and inspection work at the country’s air and port terminals, which has allowed them to continue dealing blows to national and international drug trafficking networks.
