Norma Yarrow welcomes approval of report on treason against Pedro Castillo

Norma Yarrow assures that the motion of censure against Willy Huerta "has begun to run"

Congresswoman Norma Yarrow, from Avanza País, welcomed the fact that the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations has approved the report that proposes to disqualify the President of the Republic for five years, for the alleged crime of treason against the country.

“Correct action by all colleagues who today voted in favor of the report that accuses Pedro Castillo of treason against the country. I did well to make this complaint mine. The country is not for sale, it is defended. To those who voted against, Peru will know how to judge them”he wrote on social networks.

Yarrow was the legislator who accepted as her own the complaint filed by a group of lawyers led by Lourdes Flores Nano against the president for the statements he made in an interview with CNN en Español.

The parliamentarian did not participate in the vote this Friday, November 11 in the subcommittee, where the report that proposes to disqualify and allow the prosecution of Pedro Castillo in the judicial system for this case was approved by 11 votes in favor and 10 against.

“Since I was the one who filed the constitutional complaint against Pedro Castillo, I could not vote on the report that accuses him of treason. If he did, he vitiated the process, as some wanted. That’s why I applied for a license. I could not be judge and party”explained Norma Yarrow.
