After the resignation of Susana Signorino to the presidency of the Transparency and Public Ethics Board (Jutep) by personal motives, Town meeting chose as his replacement the legal adviser of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) Gabriela di Longoconfirmed to The Observer the senator and vice president of the Raúl Lozano party.
Signorino resigned from his position on Tuesday, November 8although he had already announced his decision early octoberwhen the Jutep was the focus of internal tensions as a result of a lack of funds and the bad relationship between the president of the lobbyist and the director of Frente Amplio, Ana Maria Ferraris.
Before his resignation, the leadership of the Cabildo chose Di Longo for his “personal and professional characteristics”, Lozano stated.
According to El País, his name has already been sent to President Luis Lacalle Pou, who is responsible for appointing the president through a resolution. Then the designation must obtain the consent of the Senatewhich is reached with three fifths of the votes of the camera.
