Alexandra Canido Esquivel turned 15, and as she says, she is already getting used to her birthday being different, because it is the third year that she has been in an atypical situation. The previous two, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she could not celebrate them as she would have liked, and this year, which she had on the twentieth day of unemployment, neighbors and their friends were not expected to prepare a celebration in the street.
“I did not expect anything, I did not expect anything because of the situation we are going through (…), I am very happy to feel the love of the people. This birthday was very special”, commented Alexandra, who is in the third year of secondary school at the Latin American school.
The band played happy birthday and she danced with his mother Elvira Esquivel, while the people who were at the blocking point applauded and shared with them that special moment. Alexandra is the only child between two boys, the middle child.
“We did not expect so much affection; (am) very grateful to the people who were by my daughter’s side, giving him love and having a nice time, like family. Since she did not expect it, seeing her happy is my greatest reward, “said the fifteen-year-old’s mother.
Joaquín, Alexandra’s younger brother, also enjoyed the celebration and the affection of the neighbors; he accompanied the birthday girl and her mother.
