President peter castle greeted the convocation of the mobilization called “The taking of Lima”, marches in favor of his Government and against the third vacancy motion. Citizens who demanded the closure of the Congress of the Republic were also captured in the demonstration.
At the end of a meeting with the elected authorities of Pasco, Castillo Terrones assured that the This Thursday’s mobilization was “natural” and “genuine” compared to other manifestations.
“I would like to salute the Pasco region and the country because today it has given a natural response, a genuine response, without grabbing her by the neck to make her go out into the street, without pressuring her and without giving her anything. The people who have now demonstrated throughout the country have come out to defend their own right, they have come out to defend their vote, which many times and for a long time was ignored,” said the head of state.
Castillo Terrones indicated that “the people are intelligent and wise” because there was a considerable convocation of people for “The taking of Lima” despite “so much campaign to demolish this Government”
“This town knows that there are those who tell the truth and those who lie to the town. Pedro Castillo criticizes Congress
At another point in his speech, the President Pedro Castillo questioned Congress because it does not process the initiatives of the Government sent to the Legislative.
“Every time we present, they are forgotten. Imagine, 64 bills presented at this time from the Executive to Parliament. And the norm says that the bills of the Executive have priority, but they do not put them up for debate. (…) They are not looking at the country, they are not looking at the needs. They are used to looking at something else,” he noted.
