The twentieth edition of the Mountain Theater Festival will take place from today, November 10, to Sunday, November 13, in the Cienfuegos mountains under the general direction of José Oriol González, director of Grupo Teatro Los Elementos.
During those four days, the artists will perform for the residents of remote communities such as Monforte, Cuatro Vientos, Mayarí, La Parra, El Naranjo, Camilo Cienfuegos, Yaguanabo, Crucesitas and San Narciso, among others.
René Gómez Torres, specialist in cultural communication of the Provincial Council of the Performing Arts, reported that the groups Mascarada Teatral, from Santiago de Cuba and Teatro Garabato, from Sancti Spíritus, will participate, as well as the Cienfuegos Living Sculpture and Zancos projects.
He also said that Gigantería Habana, Impulso Teatro, Charro Clown and actor René de la Cruz (son) will perform. and that in the rural gallery Gina Pellon the photographic exhibition will be inaugurated From the Escambray to Turquino, by the young artist Alcides Portal Alfonso.
The event is dedicated to the promoter Juana Rodríguez Maya, who recently passed away, and to the 2021 national Community Culture awards, the singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez, the Clave de Sol Vocal Guitar Orchestra and the Los Elementos Theater.
