This tax was one of those that most jeopardized the Tax Reform in the conciliation process, and had caused quite a bit of annoyance in representative Katherine Miranda, who led this proposal.
“I deeply regret informing you that the tax on churches has been removed from the conciliation. The blackmail won! I will continue, even if it is alone, giving this fight in Congress! Thanks to the citizens for their support,” Miranda wrote.
