Not too blue or red in the US

Not too blue or red in the US

The mid-term elections in the US that were believed would stain the political map red (Republican) have not been such. Nor have Biden’s supporters (the blues) been so disenchanted.

The process and voting system in countries such as the US supposes a complexity as intense as the work that the elected would have to do, whether as mayor, governor, president or parliamentarian of the country. one that now already has the intermediate results of 2022, on who and how much place each party would occupy in the House of Representatives so that they can parley in favor of what their people need.

With these numbers, democracy in the United States ensures this purpose with voting, giving power or kratos to the demos or people so that they are the ones who choose their authorities.

Yesterday, the first part of the extensive suffrage work that this country-continent has carried out, which not only brings together Americans in its territory, but also people of different origins, social classes, religions, political and sexual tendencies, and in the variety that presents the world as an offer and proposal so that one can choose which one seems more comfortable and useful to support.

The result of the vote remains uncertain. plus the Democrats could maintain control of the Senate, where several seats remain to be filled, and the Republicans would take the House of Representatives.

The executive must listen to the mandate

Some say that the results would in some way predict the American presidency scheduled for 2024, which is the most important political appointment that the politicians who will dispute two years from now have, which in turn represents the return of a republican government or democratic continuity .

Biden, quite older, presides over one of the most complicated countries to define and work for a citizenry whose main concern is economics and where inflation has cost his party several votes.

More than 213 million US voters were called yesterday to renew part of the mandates of the Senate (upper house of the American republic) and all of the 435 seats in the House of Representatives. These are distributed in proportion to the population of each State. A 25-year-old won a seat in the lower house, Massachusetts elected a lesbian as governor, and a Cherokee Indian from Oklahoma reaches Congress. Some curious details of yesterday’s results.

Many hope that these elections work for what the population needs them to be and do not end up being a fiasco usually seen in Latin American countries that we must understand for what and why the vote is given and participate not to respond political favors or have been “herded” as animals after having sold our free exercise to defray in peace without incidence of anyone or anything.

no one took it all

The Senate has been made up of more Democrats than Republicans, which means that this place would tend towards ideas and policies closer to Biden, although that has yet to be defined in several states.

Something that was already made clear in the last presidential elections when Biden (Democratic Party) defeated Trump (Republican) and that from now on would perhaps mean that Republicans have to pay attention to the Democratic maneuvers in Congress and other references that formed part of the proposals that were raised for public consideration in these elections.

Several points that demand attention such as those related to gender, the carrying of weapons, the aboryo, the racial question and several others that saturate the agenda of the elected parliamentarians whose decision will serve for a world that takes reference what the American demands and the measures taken in this regard sometimes to imitate, criticize or study why these events have occurred.

What will happen from now on remains to be seen, but the American electorate has already spoken.
