This increase in the basic salary affects, according to experts, not only those who earn it, but also those with higher incomes, since they earn a full salary, which must be at least 13 minimum wages.
But, in the case of companies that have a payroll with salaries higher than the minimum, does the increase also apply to their employees?

To answer this question, it must be taken into account that one of the most important factors in the basic salary negotiations, which will formally begin in December, is that the increase must be above the inflation of the year that endsas stipulated by Colombian law.
Therefore, the correct thing to do, according to Stefano Farné, director of the Labor Market and Social Security Observatory of the Externado University of Colombia, is that employers continue with this practicenamely, “In the case of workers who earn more or less than the minimum, it would be to at least increase the inflation or increase in prices for the year that is closing”.
