Cenidh warns that political prisoners in "El Chipote" are collapsing

The political prisoners held in the Directorate of Judicial Assistance (DAJ), known as “El Nuevo Chipote” in Managua, have served 75 days without receiving visits from their relatives.

The decision of the Daniel Ortega regime to restrict visits to prisoners of conscience has caused the concern of their relatives and human rights organizations who have demanded that the country’s authorities stop violating human rights.

To date, the physical and psychological state of the opponents is unknown. The Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights (Cenidh) demanded that the Nicaraguan government restore the visits to verify the condition in which they find themselves.

“The political prisoners in the El Chipote torture center have been without visits for 75 days, their physical and psychological integrity is unknown. Their lives are in danger. #VisitsNow #FreedomNow», alerted and sued the organization through its Twitter account.

At the same time, he urged the Nicaraguan people not to forget the political prisoners who, according to their relatives, continue to be subjected to cruel and inhuman treatment. “Let’s not forget them, they are being tortured in El Chipote, their bodies are collapsing, their lives are in danger,” they warned.

Recently, the Casla Institute, which has supported the political prisoners in Nicaragua and has demanded their immediate release, would have lamented the isolation and torture suffered by opponents.

«This is terrible, we have not seen it; We are uncertain because we do not know how he is. We know that every minute you spend locked up is exasperating, ”said a relative on condition of anonymity to Article 66.

For its part, the family of sports writer Miguel Mendoza lamented that the Nicaraguan dictatorship has kept them locked up for 506 days and unable to see their eight-year-old daughter.

«We demand that they authorize visits and that Alejandra can see her father, she has 505 days of not hugging him. The last time her family knew of her health status was on August 27. Incommunicado detention is psychological torture. Having critical thinking is not a crime”, they expressed through the Facebook page miguel mendoza.

The last time that the political prisoners in “El Nuevo Chipote” received a visit was between August 26 and 28, then they were exhibited in the courts of Managua between the 30 of that month and the first of September, where the damage that prison confinement has left them.
