Zamora Gayosso worked as head of the General Legal Subdirectorate of the Conagua, and now this area will be in charge of Ramiro Barajas Ambriz, manager of the Litigation, reported the agency.
What happened in Conagua?
On October 31, 2022, it was reported that, upon arriving at the Conagua offices, Dr. Elena Burns was prohibited from entering.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador himself acknowledged in his morning conference that Burns and the general director of Conagua, Germán Martínez, had differences and assured that he even consulted him about dismissing the academic and activist.
López Obrador assured that he accepted the proposal for Elena Burns to carry out a project in the Presidency.
However, organizations for the defense of water that support Burns’ work denounced that her dismissal responds to the fact that the academic has denounced the irregularities with which Conagua grants concessions to private parties in regions with water scarcity.
To @conagua_mx He did not like that Dr. Elena Burns did something for the country, for the ecosystems and for the people.
That is why she was fired.
This letter is of disagreement for that act.
