Rosario Murillo defends control in the mayor's offices: They assure that "peace will not be attacked"

The vice president of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, continues her celebration after the municipal votes on November 6, where her regime appropriated without political competition the 153 mayors of the country.

In reference to yesterday’s act, November 8, at the Alexis Argüello sports center for the “triumph” of the questioned municipal process, the spokeswoman for the dictatorship congratulated the members of the Sandinista Youth (JS) who cheered dictator Daniel Ortega and her .

“How much joy yesterday at that concert and that beautiful act of our youth, that youth that we felt vibrate with the pride of our history and that is what impressed me a lot,” said the deputy dictator.

Likewise, he stressed that “this demonstration of patriotic love, of commitment, of the willingness of our youth to continue the work that throughout the decade and the centuries we Nicaraguans have been establishing, that is why we speak of historical times and strategic”.

She stated that she felt proud because peace and well-being are being protected and defended “to which all Nicaraguans have a right. We are committed to continue building the future that we deserve, that we want, that we dream of; the future of all, the unity of all, because it is united that Nicaragua triumphs».

“We remain vigilant always because no one can take away this peace that belongs to us,” he concluded.

This appropriation of the mayor’s offices and the imposition of a single party has received criticism at the national and international level, in which they reproach authoritarianism, the crushing of institutions and the freedoms consigned in the Political Constitution of Nicaragua.

The Open Polls observatory confirmed that only 17% of Nicaraguans went to the polling stations; many did it forced by the regime before warnings of reprisals.

The multidisciplinary team also indicated that these votes were marked by arbitrary arrests of opponents with a total of 19 arrests registered in six departments of the country, since November 1.
