New scam modality: almost 30 have been stolen with a dramatic call

Telephone scams are daily bread, criminals do not distinguish the origin or socioeconomic level of the victims to achieve their mission and deceive the most unwary.

Just in the last few hours a form of deception was revealed which, although it looks old, is very modern as it has several features that make people fall.

According to the investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office, the events occurred in Bucaramanga, Santander, when the couple pretended to be policemen, and called their victims, assuring that a relative had run over a pregnant woman.

They even talked about the consequences that would have the person behind the wheel and the occupants of the vehicle, ranging from court proceedings to jail.

Thus, the so-called uniformed men proceeded to ask for money from those who were on the other side of the phone, to avoid a long and difficult criminal process.

The authorities report at least 27 complaints against the couple, for the crime of aggravated extortion And they were already captured.
