A total of 42 people will be called to trial for the crime against collective security, in the form of organized crime, related to the “Empire” operation, in which 5 people were also dismissed.
This was reported by the Public Ministry when highlighting that in a preliminary hearing, the First Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime, before the First Liquidator Court of Criminal Cases, managed to open a trial for these people.
From August 17 to 22, 2022, this preliminary hearing was held where the necessary evidence was presented to prove the crime where the Public Ministry requested that 44 people be summoned to trial.
This case is related to an investigation that began on March 3, 2016, due to the existence of an organized criminal group led by alias “El Fakir”, which also had other co-leaders such as alias “Ninin”, alias “Isma”, alias “Richard” and alias “Chucu”, who had been operating since 2015, throughout the national territory and had links with other countries, where this criminal group was engaged in various illicit activities, including homicide, drugs, kidnapping and others. , which as a result of these illicit activities acquire economic benefits.
In this case, the Public Ministry investigated 66 people, 18 were already sentenced through sentence agreements between 80 and 70 months in prison, 42 called to trial, one died and 5 were dismissed.
