This Wednesday, November 9, the dollar registers a downward trend. At least during the first hours of the day.
By 8:28 am the dollar had an average price of $4,958.56. That is, 54.64 pesos below the TRM of the day, which is located at $5,013.20.
At the end of the day the average price was $4,914.13. Which implies a drop of 99.07 pesos with respect to the TRM.
However, the opening price of the day was $4,970.00. Along with this, the maximum trading value is $4,970.00 and the minimum $4,875.
History of the dollar in Colombia
The November 10, 1995 the dollar in Colombia reached $1,000. The figure became a milestone in the country that was going through a difficult time after the assassination, eight days earlier, of the former constituent and former presidential candidate Alvaro Gómez Hurtado.

On April 19, 2000, the dollar touched $2,000. At that time there was a demilitarized zone in which the Government was trying to carry out a peace negotiation with the FARC guerrillas, but that day there was an ambush (of the several that occurred in those days) in which they assassinated 10 policemen.
The On August 19, 2015, the currency reached $3,000. The moment was sensitive because the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the border to be closed. On March 13, 2020, at the start of the pandemic, the dollar reached $4,000. Fears about the closure of the world economy generated strong volatility in the markets.
On November 3, the dollar officially exceeded $5,000.
