Four brothers investigated for committing extortion were captured in the Los Corrales sector, Tinaquillo municipality, Cojedes state.
A preliminary report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) identified the detainees as Wilmer Alexander, William José, Wil Mario and José Luis Tovar Mena, who were denounced by numerous victims of extortion, according to file No. CONAS -GAES-N°32-COJ-SIP-0436-2022.
Telephone equipment and a 12-gauge shotgun were seized from the Tovar Mena brothers. The four individuals were part of the criminal organization Los Cumbia, who present an arrest warrant issued by the Court of First Instance of the state of Cojedes, according to file No. 1C000779-16 , official letter No. 0765-17 dated 11/03/2017, for the crime of possession of drugs.
But, in addition, they were dedicated in recent times to collect vaccine from agricultural producers of Tinaquillo, according to the investigations.
A similar group was dismantled by the Conas in the Urama sector, Juan José Mora municipality, Carabobo state. There, Luis Alfonso Paredes Salas, Jhon Alejandro Silva López, Daniel José Barrera Medina, Milagros Elena Gutiérrez Escalona, Keisy Camacho Delgado were arrested, who under threat of death demanded an amount of dollars from a victim, so as not to threaten his life and that of their relatives, refers to the CONAS report to which we had access.
A 9mm pistol, twenty 5.56×45 caliber cartridges, ten 9mm cartridges, seven telephone sets, a Chevrolet Optra, license plate AF711MK and a Bera 150 motorcycle, license plate AA2E82L were seized from the group of detainees.
The detainees were handed over to the Public Ministry for criminal prosecution for extortion, among other crimes.
