Changes are coming regarding some subsidies. In search of mitigating the effects of hunger, some amounts of those programmed for Solidarity Income, Families in Action and Youth in Action.

Thus, in December, around 2 million households in situations of extreme poverty and poverty receive an extraordinary transfer of 500,000 pesos.

Of the 3.5 million households that are part of Solidarity Income, about 1.2 million from Group A of Sisbén (those in extreme poverty) who currently receive between 420,000 and 435,000 pesos (depending on the number of people per household) will be adjusted to 500,000 pesos.

Along with it, nearly 340,000 new families that do not receive state aid will be integrated and they are in Group A of the Sisbén. It should be clarified that this would be the last Solidarity Income payment, since the subsidy ends on December 31.

In the case of Families in Action, the amount of the health incentive in cycle 6 of 2022 was adjusted so that holders with children under 5 years of age receive a total of 500,000 pesos for the fulfillment of their commitments.

Finally, for Jovenes en Acción in the event that they identify themselves as mothers of boys and girls under 5 years of age, They will also receive a total of 500,000 pesos, provided they meet the program requirements in cycle 6 of 2022.

The objective is that these two programs can financially help nearly 400,000 families headed by women.

This adjustment to the value of the transfers, which is part of the shock plan against hunger, does not mean that the benefit that has been granted within the framework of the Solidarity Income program to its recipients, which was designed to mitigate the effects of the pandemic and that ends, by order of the previous government, in December 2022. The Government is making a great effort to ensure income for poorer households where the majority of the head is female, all with the purpose to get them out of the poverty line”, said Cielo Rusinque, director of Social Prosperity.
