MADRID, Spain.- Cuban Aramís Rosillo Padrón put up for sale a ball signed by baseball legends on the island, with the aim of being able to help his family with that money.
“That ball is of great value to me, but right now the well-being of the family is the priority,” said Rosillo Padrón, who recently lost the ability to walk, and with it his job.
Among the signatures that appear on the ball are those of Armando Capiró, Luis Giraldo Casanova, Pedro José Rodríguez, Pedro Medina, Alfonso Urquiola, Agustín Marquetti, Rodolfo Puente, Fernando Sánchez, Wilfredo Sánchez, Lourdes Gourriel, Braudilio Vinent, Rogelio García and Anthony Munoz.
Likewise, it has the signatures of Pedro Jova, Alberto Martínez, Leonardo Goire and former pitchers Carlos Mesa, José Luis Alemán, Rafael Castillo, Juan Carlos Oliva and Jesús Guerra, among others.
The ball corresponds to the 1979 Intercontinental Cup; first tournament of this type played, organized and won by Cuba. The Cup had the Latin American Stadium as its main venue and the Cuban team won undefeated.
