MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban Gladis Yanet Pimentel, resident in Peru, denounced the theft of several products sent to her baby and her family in Havana, through the business state owned Aerovaradero S.A.

Last month Pimentel had made a shipment of three packages of 3 kilograms (kg) each by the Aerovaradero company; and on the 4th of the current month they called his relatives to inform them that they could make the collection at warehouse 21 of terminal 2 of the José Martí International Airport.

Upon receiving the packages, “all three were open,” the woman assured the independent media Cuban DNA.

In the first package, she had sent 2 kg of food for her baby such as milk, oatmeal, gelatin… And 1 kg of jams. That package “was delivered with only 0.5 kg, that is, they left it empty, only with some jams,” Pimentel said.

While in the other two packages there were “nine rechargeable lamps, four rechargeable fans, portable chargers for phones, hearing aids, toiletries and medicines.” However, the family member “was only given 1 kg. Everything else disappeared.”

“They did not leave any medicine, any food, any cleaning, which is what I was most interested in that it arrived. The lamps were due to the shortage of electricity and the fans too”, lamented the woman indignantly.

The cargo was delivered in Peru to the shipping agency to Cuba All Consultme SAC, which sends them through the Copa airline to the offices of the state company in Havana.

“Those who dispatched the package [en Cuba] They said they came from Peru like this, [pero] When contacting the agency here, they explained to me that the packages arrived in Cuba with 3 kg,” he said.

After making the claim to Aerovaradero SA, a supervisor in Havana “reviewed and said that it was wrong, but that they could do nothing, everything was already lost and he could only make the claim to try to resolve the compensation in a month, which would be 200 Cuban pesos”.
