Edenorte withdraws complaint against man who dismantled meters in Santiago protest

The executives of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company ( EDENORTE) withdrew the complaint against Jonathan Guzmán, accused of allegedly having dismissed accountants from that institution.

The president of the National Confederation of Transport Workers (CNTT), Juan Marte, considered it a very wise decision by the entity’s representatives.

Marte also assured that the most important thing is the preservation of democracy, freedom and the legitimate right to protest in the Dominican Republic.

He indicated that the movement of the northern region is happy for the freedom of Jonathan Guzmán. And with that, he said that the president, Luis Abinader, should be thanked for his intervention to preserve the rights of the social activist.

Juan Marte asked the director of Edenorte to sit down and listen to the customers who are desperate and in the next accountants could come off in Santiago and the North Region.

In days past members of the National Police of the Cibao Command arrested four men, after occupying an indeterminate amount of accountants electricity in the municipality of Sabana Iglesia, in this province.

The detainees were identified as Luis David Plasencia Franco, Leocadio Segura Rodríguez, Erick Almonte Nuñez and Jonathan Primitivo Guzmán Vargas, all of legal age.
